The Cockpit
The Cessna 182 is one of the easiest aircraft to fly and a first-pick for flight schools. Originally powered by the Continental O-470, rated at 230 hp, it can travel at approximately 925 ft/min and a maximum of 930 nm. Stability is one of the model’s best qualities, and nosewheel steering has been incorporated to appeal to a majority of pilots. Various design changes have been made to the original model, resulting in a total of 23 variants. Modifications include a wider fuselage, the addition of a rear “omni-vision” window, larger baggage compartment, increased gross weights, and revised landing gear.
